In celebration of music past, present and future, Mick Thomas has made an annual tradition as each year draws to a close, of packing up the gear, picking up the band, and heading out on the wide open road with his band The Roving Commission. The brand spanking, tried and true, new old band features eternal compatriot Squeezebox Wally on the accordion, Michael Hubbard on bass duties, Ayleen O’Hanlon on the banjo and glorious BVs, and Dave Folley keeping it rocksteady behind the kit.

Their 2016 ‘Summer Over The Range’s’ National Toursets its sights way up high and across the countryside. Along the way, you’ll hear a playlist goes back as far as it goes forward, including some new releases from the Sneaky Singles Club and some you may not have heard yet including the dreamy self-doubt of Aqua Profonda (Mick’s AND Courtney Barnett’s), the wry topicality of Damo’s Working in the Mines and the roistering bash-em-out squall of First Night in South East Asia. Expect some new voices singing some of the fine old songs, and some old throats performing some beaut new tricks.

Now that’s something to take you to a land you’ve heard of, where the Aussie summer skies are very blue and the dreams that you dare to dream, really do come true!
