MALENY'S KING OF THE ZOMBIES - BLACK BISON FILM LODGE
Date Wednesday 30th March
MALENY’S KING OF THE ZOMBIES: AN EVENING WITH SUNSHINE COAST SCHLOCKMEISTER JOSH LONG
For March 2016’s Black Bison Film Lodge we’re proud to present the first of our “Meet The Filmmaker” sessions, and as far as Aussie horror directors go, Josh Long is one of the most prolific and frighteningly original: twisted storylines, buckets of gore, shock tactics, poor taste, and black, black humour. And zombies. LOTS of zombies.
Josh hosts a selection of his schlocky shorts, from 2002’s experimental undead micro-masterpiece LUCID BEING, to more recent work, mostly filmed around the Sunshine Coast, including his most ambitious and internationally acclaimed AXED (2011), which redefines the term “mountains of corpses”.
As always, Black Bison’s Andrew Leavold emcees the talk and Q&A, and masked DJ The Screaming Meanies curates the bloodcurdling sounds!
The Bison Bar is open from 5pm till late Wed-Sat, 4pm-8pm Sundays.
( 18+ venue only )
