Ayla released her debut single 'Wish I Was' early 2014, which quickly gained full rotation on triple j radio, coming in as the 15th most played song of the year on the station. The song also pricked ears internationally, resulting in a distribution deal with EGO records Italy (Emma Louise, The Jezabels) and a top 10 spot on the Italian iTunes Charts.
Ayla's song writing prowess was quickly recognised when her song ‘Talk About Home’ made the finals of the Teen category of the International Song Writing Competition in 2012, when Ayla was just 16. The following year she made it to the finals again, this time in two categories with ‘Wish I Was’.
Since the release of her debut, Ayla has toured the East Coast of Australia sharing the stage with Katie Noonan, Husky and Bonjah to name a few. In 2015, Ayla released an EP off the back of two follow up singles, which have both also picked up rotation on triple j.
Fresh from Woodford Folk Festival, Ayla will be performing intimate solo/duo shows across the East Coast of Australia in January and February 2016, including a show at The Bison Bar, Sunshine Coast on Sunday the 7th of February.
The Bison Bar is open from 5pm till late Wed-Sat, 4pm-8pm Sundays.
